Hi! I’m Lacy (she/her).
I’m a wildlife biologist. A data scientist. A writer. An R Coder.
Sometimes I think in R. I try not to speak or write in R, unless, of course, I’m writing an R script.
I’ve used R to clean and transform data and to conduct statistical analysis for over a decade.
Who is this newsletter for?
This newsletter is primarily intended for people with limited or no experience writing code (whether it be R or Python or SAS or something else) to work with data. As the newsletter grows, it will contain more advanced topics that will benefit current R users.
What will you gain from this newsletter?
Free R resources! Tips and tricks and guides. Answers to questions.
Learning R sometimes sucks…
Yeah. Learning R is challenging if you don’t have other coding experience. It’s challenging even if you’ve used it before. BUT working with data in Excel has it’s own challenges and, in the long run, using only Excel will limit your speed and potential. The more you learn how to use R, the more powerful you’ll be working with your data. You only need to learn a few functions to quickly maximize your efficiency cleaning data.
